As winter sets in across Canada and the holiday season approaches, we are reflecting on the wonderful opportunity that has been provided to us to build nearly 1,700 homes that are providing British Columbians with stable housing.
With a healthy environment where basic needs are met, people can thrive. We believe Horizon North can’t sit idly by while 35,000 Canadians are homeless on any given night and more than 200,000 experience homelessness every year. Using our modular building solutions, we believe we have a role to play in solving the challenges that are posed by a lack of affordable housing. We build quickly. We build with certainty. We build because it has the power to change lives. Across more than three dozen projects from Vancouver to Kamloops to Grand Forks and others, the spaces we are building provide one common thing – hope.
Hope is everywhere at Hummingbird Place, a supportive housing facility in Vancouver developed by BC Housing, operated by PHS Community Services and built by Horizon North. Here, people like Jimmy Wagner are re-discovering the opportunities they missed when they were struggling on the streets.
We believe every Canadian deserves a place to call home. We are proud to build affordable housing that Canadians need – with certainty.
