  • Our Safety Performance

The Horizon North Way.

We track and assess our company’s safety performance according to a wide range of measures including both leading and lagging indicators.  We believe non-financial measures – such as safety and an engaged workforce – have a significant role to play as a leading indicator of our future performance.

Our TRIR measures the number of work-related employee and contractor incidents that result in an injury (apart from first aids) per 200,000 hours worked.

The number provides an indication of the personal safety of our workforce.

2015 Performance:  Our workforce TRIR, which includes employees and contractors combined is 1.0.  While this is encouraging and considered best amongst our peer group we strive for even better as we work toward world class performance where zero is the goal.
