Horizon North designed, manufactured, transported and completed the installation of a three module training facility at McLean Park Housing Cooperative in Vancouver’s East End. The 2,080 sq ft BC Housing Skills Plus facility includes one lunchroom/washroom module, a large classroom and a “hands-on” training room. The 28 foot x 74 foot facility is finished throughout with high-end materials, a suspended ceiling and site installed flooring to eliminate signs of modular junctions. In addition, the complex features acoustical upgrades to the partitions that separate the “hands-on” training room and the classroom in order to improve soundproofing. The exterior of the complex is clad in sustainable Alura Fibre Cement panels over a rain screen application for a quality and visually appealing finish that remains weather-resistant and reduces moisture absorption in Vancouver’s coastal climate.
