This three storey office complex provides executive style offices and architecturally enhanced features to provide occupants with the high-end fit and finish of a site-built structure, featuring the cost effectiveness and advantages of modular construction. Common areas were finished with painted gyproc and site installed flooring to eliminate signs of modular junctions. Acoustical upgrades were also added to the partitions to improve the soundproofing. The two tone profiled exterior metal siding is installed with a full air barrier and aluminum curtain wall exterior windows. The office have 16 modules per floor (12,792 sq ft / floor) for a combined total of 48 modules (38,376 sq ft) located in a remote area of N.E. Alberta. The design of the building and selection of all building materials and equipment are for a life span exceeding 25 years.
Horizon North completed the project safely using a total of 43,000 man hours which included subcontractor hours. The project had a strong safety record with zero loss time incidents recorded.
The office building won top honors at the 2014 Modular Building Institute (MBI) Awards for its industry leading design and architectural features.Download Project Sheet
