Our Residential Process
As a trailblazer in the industry of modular construction, Horizon North’s residential division has gained a firm understanding of both the urban and rural home buyer’s wants and needs. Our technologically advanced, systems-built homes continue to set the bar in neighbourhoods all across Canada.
We are committed to providing cutting-edge, innovatively-designed homes constructed to the highest level of quality and environmental standards, while remaining affordable for our clients. By utilizing green technologies, materials, and processes, Karoleena and Kadence built homes are eco-friendly and forward thinking dwellings, delivered on time and on budget.
Why Build a Karoleena or Kadence Home?
Karoleena and Kadence homes utilize a modular construction method, differing from other conventional methods, such as ‘stick-built’, which is a piece-by-piece process, constructed right on site. Both methods utilize the same materials and design philosophy, and follow the same building codes and standards. However, modular construction uses sophisticated technology and industry leading design software to identify elements of a construction project that can be prefabricated as modules of various sizes, in a factory controlled environment.
We have designed and manufactured multiple home layouts with varying features, from a 250 sq ft micro-cube to a 3,000 sq ft dream home. Through years of experience, we have refined our product, delivering exceptional value and quality to our customers. With modular construction, the majority of the work is completed in our manufacturing facilities, including finishing, flooring, countertops, fixtures, appliances, and in some cases the furniture. When your home is ready for shipment to the prepared foundation and site, it is 80-90% complete.
After years of research, we have developed efficient designs that are not only functional, but also provide comfort for our customers. The result is over 10 unique floorplans for each of our Karoleena and Kadence lines, ranging from 400 sq ft to 3,000 sq ft. While both home lines provide personalization through the selection of your finishing elements during the design process, our Karoleena luxury homes offer the ability to further modify floorplans, which do not alter the structural, electrical, or mechanical systems.
How We Build
Our manufacturing process is completed within world-class facilities where up to 90% of your home is constructed, including finishing, flooring, countertops, fixtures, appliances and sometimes even furniture. By utilizing LEAN concepts developed by renowned manufacturing companies, our process is the most efficient and quality-oriented way to build a home. Once the modules are constructed in our factory controlled environment, they are transported and delivered to their intended site, set on the foundation by use of a crane, and joined together to make one integrated home.
Manufactured to Code and Beyond
When utilizing modular construction technology to manufacture our Karoleena and Kadence homes, we adhere to the same building codes, regulations and related standards as conventional home builders. Each module unit is built strong enough to withstand transportation and craning, with double walls and ceilings, creating tighter structures and an overall superior product.
Horizon North’s modular construction process delivers superior quality results every time. Our internal quality control and quality assurance procedures include third-party inspections, so every structure we build meets or exceeds industry standards.
