Job Description Based in Sherwood Park, Alberta. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, and working closely with the Human Resources Advisor, the successful individual will be responsible for providing diversified administrative and recruitment support. This is a temporary position for approximately seven months with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities

Key accountabilities and success factors include:

  • Maintaining applicant tracking spreadsheet
  • Providing recruitment support including pre-screening resumes to evaluate if applicants meet the position requirements
  • Phone-screening candidates to further evaluate if the applicant should proceed to the orientation process
  • Ensuring trade credentials, as applicable (e.g. Baker, Cook, etc.), are current
  • Performing reference checks
  • Assisting with creating and advertising job postings
  • Providing administrative support to Human Resources team
  • Assisting with special projects as required
Qualifications

It is important that the successful candidate possesses the following specific skills:

  • Recent graduate or current student of a Human Resources University or College program
  • A minimum of one year previous experience in an HR administrative and/or recruitment role
  • Knowledge of recruiting procedures and practices
  • Ability to efficiently review and select resumes that meet company requirements for further screening
  • Proficiency in MS Office and windows based computer systems
  • Displays initiative, creativity and innovation in achieving goals
  • Ability to work well under minimal supervision
  • A demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional customer service in an environment that values teamwork
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a pleasant and professional telephone manner
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent problem solving and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain good relationships and provide effective and timely service
  • Proven ability to exercise discretion, good judgement, and maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • An understanding of human rights legislation and employement standards is also preferred
