| Job Description |
The Cook is responsible for preparing, presenting, and serving top quality meals and pastries according to menu specifications based on weekly menu plan. |
| Responsibilities |
- Ensure work areas, equipment are sanitized and cleaned on a regular basis
- Check in all new residents, obtain all pertinent data for data base, assign room, camp rules and orientation, emergency evacuation plan, muster stations
- Check out residents, inspect room for damage, prepare for housekeeping, update database
- Complies with and ensures food hygiene regulations are carried out in accordance with Food Safety Act
- To incorporate into meal planning and preparation any requests to comply with special dietary constraints
- Ensure food costs are controlled and groceries are utilized effectively
- Attendance at Workplace Health and Safety committee meetings, and lead in the absence of a Camp Manager or Chef
- Supervise staff
- Stock/inventory/assist with loading unloading of groceries and supplies
- Weekly Meal Sheets
- Weekly Menu Planners & Weekly Temperature Logs
- Grocery Orders & Inventories
- Safety Meeting Minutes

| Qualifications |
- Possess good communication, interpersonal, managerial, leadership, organization, and supervisory skills
- Be capable of preparing and presenting top quality meals and pastries according to weekly menu plan, menu specifications and crew size
- Ensure proper and effective utilization of all groceries
- 6 months management training and formal culinary training
- Food Safety, Food Preparation, First Aid, WHMIS, computer training
