Job Description The 2nd Cook is responsible for assisting in the kitchen as required.
Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas of the kitchen and dining room facilities, including tables and chairs, are sanitized and clean at all times. Help wash the kitchen and dining room walls and ceilings as required
• Prepare and set up a full salad bar for lunch and supper. Feature a variety of salads, from four to six. The salad bar should also include cheese and pickle trays, cold cuts and fresh vegetables. Rotate all fruits and vegetables in the fridges and storeroom to ensure that waste is kept to a minimum
• Keep desserts and condiments replenished as necessary. Assisting in the cutting, presentation and serving of nightly desserts. Wash the tables and condiment containers down between meal settings
• Be responsible for the sanitized cleaning of all pots, dishes, etc. as required after each meal. Sanitize work areas after each use and clean the cutlery trays frequently. Assist with the cleaning of the canopy on a weekly basis
• Be responsible for the complete cleaning of all fridges and freezers on a regular basis
• Be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the steam table before, during and after meal service
• Set up and prepare the rig boxes (hot meals going to personnel working on the rig) as required. Meals in the rig box should be identical to the one served in camp. All hot food must be covered with stretch wrap and foil. Once the rig box is returned it should be cleaned and replenished with dishes and utensils
• Assist with the unloading, loading and stocking of all groceries and supplies
• Assist with all inventories as required and as otherwise instructed by the cook

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen experience preferably in a remote camp environment
• Possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to travel away from home for as long as 3 weeks at a time
• The ability to be flexible with regards to work location and rotational work schedule is a must
• Food Safety, WHMIS
• Asset: First Aid
