Job Description

Reporting directly to the Site Services Manager, this position is accountable for the overall management and administration of all dispatch related activities including scheduling and dispatching work crews, equipment, and maintenance crews to appropriate locations for start ups and shut downs, including coordination with the catering division.

This position is based in Grande Prairie, Alberta, so the CANDIDATE MUST RESIDE IN GRANDE PRAIRIE, ALBERTA OR WILLING TO RELOCATE TO GRANDE PRAIRIE.

Responsibilities

• Arrange for necessary repairs in order to restore service and schedules.
• Hire third party contractors as required to supplement HNCC staff or to complete specialty work as required (fire suppression, fire alarms, A/C, etc).
• Relay work orders, messages, and information to or from work crews, supervisors, and field inspectors.
• Confer with customers or supervising personnel in order to address questions, problems, and requests for service or equipment.
• Prepare daily work and run schedules. Invoice all service work to clients and/or provide job costs to HNCC.
• Coordinate mobile service truck maintenance and repairs. Order new service trucks and service bodies as required and arrange to place retired service trucks elsewhere in the fleet or arrange them for auction.
• Arrange trucking as required for movement of equipment and invoice as required.
• Monitor personnel and/or equipment locations and utilization in order to coordinate service and schedules.
• Record and maintain files and records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information.
• File monthly mileage and safety forms with Safety Department.
• Determine types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required according to work orders or specifications.
• Advise personnel about traffic problems such as construction areas, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, and other hazards.
• Monitor Fleet Complete vehicle tracking system as to location of vehicles, receive rule violation alerts and deal with Service staff in regards to these violations. 
• Must be available for on call rotations.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years experience in a similar role in the camp/catering or mobile equipment industry.
• Previous experience as a dispatcher would be considered an asset.
• Exceptional leadership and decision making abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to effectively manage time and meet multiple deadlines.
• Proficiency in computer systems/software.
• Excellent knowledge of roadways, travel routes to remote camp locations in Alberta and British Columbia. 
• Flexible with working hours and willing to work some overtime.
